Your (Stupid) Guide to Renovation Cost-Cutting

Couldn't help it. How many of us has a good idea of what we want our house to look like, but are restrained by the cost of replicating the idea.

Amongst the things that have crossed my mind:

• Cement screed the floor = Eliminate cost of tiles
• Hack down as many walls as possible (without comprimising structural stability) so that there are less walls to plaster and paint.
• Hack down as many walls as possible so that it will be airy and bright = Cut down on electrical bills arising from cooling the house with air-conditioner/fan and lighting up the house.
